Is anyone running the trxus sts all-terrain tire? If you are, whats your thoughts on them? Looking at trying a set. Would like to find a good used set to run. Does anyone have a set of 33-12. 50-16 they want to get rid of?

For a Jeep? Those tires are pretty much worthless IMO. Maybe for a beach or snow rig it would be fine, but they are junk in the mud or anything like that.

You talking about street use?? There probably good for about 20,000 miles as most Swampers are

My 97 had the Truxus 255 85 16s on it when I bought it. Lots of wheel weights and still a front end shimmy. They wear fast (this was also told to me by pwknapp who had several sets) and cup if a 4x4.

When I put the ricksons and Hankooks on the shimmy was completely gone. My opinion is somewhat biased because I much prefer tall skinny tires in snow country to the phatties.

I keep the Truxus around to put on when I sell the truck. They look gnarly, mean, machismo or something like that.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at these tires for an all around pulling tire. The BFG's are pretty good but pricey, would like to find a good used set.

Im doing the same thing, Im looking for some good tires that are not to expensive. I found Maxxis Buckshot Mudders which I have not bought yet, but I did some research and found they dont wear to fast and have a good load range. I can get 35s for $600 and they are radial mud terrains. I got the info from Pavementsucks guys that use them with the Cummins.

I've got a set of the Buckshot Mudders on mine and I really like them, but they can't ever seem to get them to balance out. Got a little bit of a wobble at highway speeds, but they pull great through the mud.

I have a friend that has the Buckshot mudders on his truck. He said there ok until it's time to tow something and the sidewalls are to soft. I'm looking for an all-terrain like the STS or BFG's.

i would go with the bfg on milage alone. i know a guy with a 3rd gen that only got 15k out his set. depending on how many miles you drive a year, that could get spendy

Coopers or Toyo make some fine tires with aggressive treads. They are not inexpensive but they aren't made in France either... ... . :-laf

Mastercraft (Coopers) and Big O make some comparatively less expensive tires with aggressive treads too.
