swap 48RE for a NV5600

Has anybody thought of or actually did a swap from automatic to a manual shift in a 3rd gen truck? What do you guys think would be involved in doing something like that? Would it be worth it if you really wanted a manual?

I looked into it.



I think it would be cheaper/easier to trade trucks with someone. You have to change ECM's as well as the trannies, and I'm not sure but I think the wiring harnesses will be different.



Build your auto instead. I'd much rather have a built auto than my NV5600. I can only shift so fast, but the auto rips off shifts like there's no tomorrow (if it's built).

For the time, effort and money involved, you may as well build the 48re or trade it in and get a manual. Just my 2 cents.

I looked into it. Not cost effective at all. Build up the auto or trade trucks.
