Hi can someone tell me what it would take to put a 2500 99 front differential or complete front end on my 2001 2500
Would it Bolt up or do I need major modifications
I put a 2002 front axle in my 99 3500 last winter. The brake lines will work as will the abs if the 99 has them. Spring pockets are the same. Shocks will work. Your upper and lower control arms have different size bolts in them. I just changed the bushings and got new bolts. The taper for the tie rod ends and sway bar links can be different. You will be going from a two piston to a one piston caliper. The rotors will be different also. You will be going from a 3 1/2 axle tube to a 3 3/8. The axle shafts are smaller also on the 99. See seal pics left are 2002 right 99. The front driveline will work but Dodge had three different front u joints they used. I rebuilt the 2002 axle and installed it. It is not a hard job I did it with two floor jacks in about 4 hours.
