Swap year model vacuum pump?

Anyone changeout the 1st style vacuum pump with the two vacuum diaphram pods for a newer type? If so, what year did you use and did you run into any problems that required fabrication or a different power steering pump etc?

Has been done on my dads 90. Can't give you much help though as I was away at college and he had a local shop do it.



I remember they had to get the pump of course. Then the bracket between the pump and PS pump, and the oil line that runs from the vac pump over to the block.

It should be an easy R&R, I called the company who sells the re-seal kits on ebay etc, I forgot to get his name but this guy is very knowledgeable and isn't afraid to just help a guy out with some info, I have no affiliation with him but would recommend him to anyone. http://www.fixinrams.com/index.html, very knowledgeable.



Apparently I can swap out the old style and use my same power steering pump. I will have to add an oil supply line as the newer styles have them.
