Does anyone have any ideas on the feasability of swaping a 6. 7 into a 2000 3500 dodge. I'm really looking hard into changing out my 5. 9 for the newer motor. Thanks, Moe. :-laf

Should drop right in there. Sounds like a winner to me. No more Vp-44. Bigger ci. The common rail fuel system. All good, except... .

firemanram might be on to something, for the coin your'e about to drop, you could turn what you have into a fire breathing monster. Oo.

I've never heard of anyone interested in doing that swap. It would be like swapping out a 12v for a 24v (vp44). I've just heard of more than a couple blown motors (6. 7L) at my local dealer.

Your best bet would be a 24v common rail (5. 9L, 03-07), if you like the electronics and would like a quite motor.

On the other hand, you can get a 12v, mechanical (reliable) and it gets really good mpg, plus the good old diesel sound:D

It also depends on what you want out of your truck... . ?

towing, sled pull, drag racing, daily driver... ... ?
