Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) swapping a 94 12v into 97 12v truck

I have agood 94 12v engine and I have found a nice 1997 12v truck with a bad motor I know the hp is lower on the 94 but other than that is there much difference in the wiring or injection ,I know they are both p pumps. anyone know if it would it be a straight swap? thanks

I know that the 94 has a vacuum booster for the brakes and I think that the 97 has a hydro booster for one thing. P pumps are different. Wiring harness and computer are different. Trans is all mechanical except for OD on the 94 48rh. 97 48re uses more electronic to run. I think it is do able but will require some mods. Hopefully someone who's done it will speak up. You can swap injectors and pump straight up and you will have a 215 engine!
