I just purchased a new 2007 5. 9L 4x4 Quad-cab SWB to replace a 2005 of the same description. The only drivetrain difference is that the 07 is a 6spd G56 truck and the 05 is an auto 48RE. So, here's the question... Will the exhaust systems swap between the 2 trucks? The kitty ran away on the 05 when I put on the MPBR exhaust system. I need to get the cat back on the 05 so the dealer won't have any issues with emissions testing. My plan is to take the entire system off of the 07 and put it on the 05. This will fix the cat issue and allow me to have the MPBR system on the 07. Does anyone know if I'll have any issues putting the 07 exhaust on the 05?

The 07 will be here in a couple of days, so I need to come up with a plan quickly!

I'd say with 99% certainty the swap should work.

When I installed the Magnaflow system on my '03, we racked the truck on a 2 post rack, supported the transfer case, and dropped the crossmember. The OEM system (although it was then straight-piped) was removed in one piece.

Even though it's a new truck, don't count on the OEM exhaust coming apart easy on the 2007 due to the crush style clamps that are used.

Hopefully all will go well for you..... especially if you have access to some lifts.
