Well, my buddy hit me up on buying my '00 CTD the other day and I have been thinking about it. After my '94 is up and running it will then be my dailey driver and I was thinking of selling the '00.

Long story short, another buddy of mine has a '94 3/4 ton CTD 4x4 that he would sell me if I wanted it. It is very very clean. Has an auto. and 3. 54's w/ open diff, so it is a Dana 60/70 combination. I am thinking about building me another big truck. I have been thinking about it since I sold my old '78 Ford with 44's 3 years ago.

I have the lift all layed out and designed (was playing with the idea last night), but I was wondering what all needs to be swapped out on the front & rear ends to change them to 4. 56's and I want a posi in the rear? I'm going with 44" tires again.

Can anyone point me in the right direction with parts and estimate costs? The guy who has the truck now will swap the gears for me, so the installation is taken care of.

Hopefully I can pull the plan together and "Git ur Dun".

I'm pretty sure that the carrier in the Dana 70, maybe even the 60 will have to be changed to go to a gear that steep. When I put gears in the Ramcharger, I had to change the carrier in the D44 up front (it came stock w/ 3. 23's). I went through Randy's Ring and Pinion for the parts and all, really informative, and helpful. I could have gotten the parts cheaper, but the customer service that I recieved from them that I would not have recieved from the other guys was well worth the extra expense. I took the truck to a couple of places to see how much they wanted to put the gears in, $1800, just labor! I figured I'd learn how to do it on my own!:D Everything is in right now and working great, now if I could just get it back from the body shop, he's had if for four months now! Hope this helps, James
