Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Swapping Out Trannies - 5th Gear Out

Hi All,



I did the 5th gear fix with one of those set screw gears about 13, 000 miles ago, but yesterday, it finally went out again. I'm going to go with another transmission this time, but wanted to know what the best one was, and if there is any other selections other than the 5 speed? I also want to go with a good clutch, any suggestions?

Also, can anybody recommend someone here in the Austin, Texas area that would do a good job putting it in for me at a reasonable cost?

When mine gives up 5th again,I'm calling Standard Transmission for a rebuild with the fully splined mainshaft. Couple that with a South Bend Clutch and you're good to go.
