Yes you have a plug in the mag tube. From looking at the picture you should beable to get 4 or 5 in the tube. If you want to hold more you might check with Daves metal Works they might make a mag extension for that gun.

Congrats

I know. So imagine my confusion when I could only get 2 rounds in the mag! I had completely forgotten about the possiblility of a plug. I'm not that familiar with shotguns.

Are these Charles Daly firearms any good? I've been reading mixed reviews. I would have picked a Remington 870 if I was picking it out. I like it and would like to keep it if it's any good.

Thanks!

How did you get the plug out? Same thing here, I bought it for my wife to give me at Christmass. The add in the sporting goods flyer said it held 6 rounds, when i read the instructions. it only holds 2. Was also looking online for tube ext. but its illegal for imported shotguns. You can only get them for ones made in U. S. A.

You take the cap off the end of the magazine tube to expose the retainer. Then with a flat screwdriver inserted into the retainer, push it in a little and turn it. It has grooves that match up with some little "tits" ,like a little automotive light bulb. Be careful to not let it fly off because the spring is trying to push it out of the tube. Then you can take the spring out, remove the plug then put it back together.

I found a youtube link on the Charles Daly Forum to help:

P. S. Your '57 sounds sweet. I'd like to see some pictures. I had a '57 2 door 210.

Just an update.

I started reading on the CharlesDalyForum.com about quite a few people that have problems with their CDs. I got to thinking that maybe I should see if the store would exchange my CD for a Remington 870. They said they would so that's what I did. I may have never had any problems at all, but then again I may have. Also, it seems like there are hardly any accessories for Charles Dalys out there.

Remington Model 870™ Express® Synthetic 7-Round

My son and I took our 870s out to shoot some trap and that was fun. I got some looks shooting trap with a home defense shotgun with a 18. 5" barrel and a 2 shot mag extension! Oh well, it shot great!

Yeah, I already love it! In fact, my son and I both like them even more than our ARs! He's 16 and has had his 870 for a few years now. Saturday when we were shooting trap, was one of the funnest times I've ever had shooting. Here is what his is:

I won my 870 in a poker game almost 20 years, and I've never felt the need to upgrade. It's a great shotgun.
