Swinging Tailgate

I now this doesn't apply to the Turbo Diesels yet but I thought this was interesting to bring up. A Swinging Tailgate...
What do y'all think about this?

Not for me. All too often, I need the tailgate down to support something I'm hauling and it's a great place to hold my beer or make a sammich.

I don't know about this. I stand on my tail gate to get in the bed and I place a lot of heavy items on the gate before moving them in to the bed. Such as the 5er hitch this is put-in and taken out of the bed several times a year. I don’t know if this swinging tail gate will support items on it when opened. Some users will like the swing tail gate; but folks who use the truck as a real truck will probably not order one.

Nice if you just use the truck for cruising I suppose.

I like to sit on my tailgate and often need to carry cargo with the tailgate down supporting some of the load.

I think they should also fix it so it would swing up from the bottom to make a downforce wing so these guys running up and down the road empty with their towing mirrors tilted up could get more rear wheel traction. bg
