Since this has been such a cold winter and my Stock Batteries are gettin a little old, I am wondering if any harm would come from switching to a synthetic Engine oil at 85K miles? Been running rottella since the first change. Too late or ok? Also can I switch back and forth?
I've had it in there for 12,000 miles now , second change already, getting all the old out deposits and such. but no problems , truck starts easier, and is a little quieter. I run Royal Purple in everything, Its what I like and trust.
I feel your pain, I live in Dillon and it's been pretty cold up here as well (15 degrees and snowing). I switched at 55k with no problems. If you switch to 5W-30 AMSOIL you can run it year round. My truck starts sooo much better now, even unplugged. AMSOIL also makes gear lubes that help as well. I've noticed a big way just in the way it runs. Let me know if you are interested, I can help you in the purchasing dept. Initialy it's expensive, but you'll save in the long run.
