On my 2005 QC Laramie, there are two kind of dummy switches in the dash between the seat heater switches. They are not really switches, just bumps sticking out through the panel in the same shape as the seat heater switches. Wondering if there is a handy kit out there I can buy to put real switches for my extra lights into those spots? Thanks in advance. Stef

I don't think there's a kit, but it should be easy to source switches that will fit through Newark, Mouser, Waytek, or maybe even McMaster. IIRC, those switch holes are really tall - you could probably buy 2 small switches for each one and have 4 things to control.

I've thought this for some time. Perfect place to have aux lights or whatever. Somebody should make a switch that looks oe to replace those dummy plugs. Oo.

Mine are not like the heated seat switch, but I think they look great, Check out my RR. They are Carling Switches, you have to notch the panel out with a dremel a bit, but they look great. Even have a green backlite actuator.

I did tthis on my Hemi Larimie when I had it, then when I got the CTD I went down to the dealer and bought the whole panel for a Larmime and put in 4 switches.

I made a switch out of the blank off plug and one of those carlington rocker switches with some JB weld.

Well at least its got OnStar... Hello OnStar, how come this big V8 doesn't feel industrial strength like my little 6cyl CTD did? :-laf

I sent him an email a couple days ago but no answer back, I need to know what size hole is required for two end brackets that would make a frame for two switches.

Greetings,
I know this is older thread regarding this subject. I have added lights and was wondering if anyone had come up with a switch answer. I haver looked around a little and have not found anything. Any ideas? I tried looking at the links for the pictures but long gone. Thanks!

There is a console switch in the parts fiche, 56051052AA "Without Heated Front Seat and without [DH3] or [DH5]" (where [DH3] and [DH5] = Electronic Shift-on-the Fly) but they seem to be discontinued. Good luck with that.

I sugesst a Dremel, some JB-weld and your own switches. A bit of black spray paint when you're done and presto!
