To day I went an bought three gals of Premium 2000 syn-blend oil. I spoke to Ben at Dr. Performance an was told abought a by-pass duel oil filter system. Anyone with experiance with this that can advise? Can I go 10K oil change intervals? The engine has 91K on it now, and I was told that changing to syn oil at this stage would lead to leaking gaskets and other problems. HELP!!!

Do a search using words such as, Synthetic, by-pass,Amsoil. You will find a ton of information on this subject.

One drawback to the amsoil system is that it has no way to remove water, antifreeze or fuel that gets into oil. I have had excellant results from a system from Purodyne. It has a heating element that boils off these contaminants from the oil as well as micro-filtrate the oil to less than one micron. I have a cummins in a dump truck with 300,000 miles on Delo 400 and my 96 has 107,000 miles on Delo 400 without oil change. Oil analysis shows oil still good. I'm using amsoil diesal synthetic in my 99-so far 30,000 miles and tests ok with Purodyne system.

Bill, The Amsoil By-pass system DOES remove water AND anti-freeze from the oil. It does not remove fuel. You got us there!
I talked to a business owner 2 weeks ago that had a By-pass on his JD Skidder transmission. When the cooler burst, it flooded the trans with anti-freeze. When they pulled the filters, they were filled with it. Very little was in the trans. The filters picked it up. He contributes the By-pass to saving his transmission.
Sounds like you are having great results with what you are doing.
Could you post some past samples?
Thanks.

This topic relates to everybody's trucks, be they 1st gen, 12V, 24V or even if they're 16 valve like mine #ad

So, I'm moving this thread over to the "products and accessories" forum. Please continue this thread. It's a good one #ad
