I have not noticed anyone that uses synthetic oil AND even does periodic oil analysis that do not change oil. Why, if the analysis is positive, change oil at all or much longer intervals?

Amsoil literature tell of 10 times that in documented miles between oil changes with bypass systems. Everyones afraid of going more than what feels right I guess, looking at the dark oil on the dipstick. I know I'm afraid of going more than 15000 miles with 2 filter changes.

Call it double standards if you want. I trust synthetics in my race engine, because I feel it is way more forgiving on the parts at high rpm's and stressful conditions than regular oil. I just can't bring myself to go with extended intervals like most do when they run it in their daily drivers. I probably should consider it because of the miles I drive.

I am one that believes in Amsoil synthetic AND periodic oil analysis for extended drain intervals. I have gone for as long as 150,000 miles on only one oil drain (after break-in) using the Amsoil Oil By-pass filtration system. Internals of the valve train looked very nice at the 150,000 mark.

On a Diesel engine, I would never go beyond 10,000 miles without having the oil analyzed however, even with the by-pass oil filtration system.

Of course this is my view.
