I am going to be installing a new DTT tc and vb very soon... . #ad
I have a couple questions for all you guys who have switched to synthetic ATF.

What brand are you using? Why did you choose the brand you did? Are you happy with your choice?

Thanks for all your input,

Doug S.

Bill K told me after the initial 1000 mile brake in after his TC and VB are installed,i switch back to the Amsoil Universal trans fluid,as far as im concerned it is the best for the money and for the wear protection, trans runs cooler also.
I asked the same question a year ago and that is what everybody told me to use and im happy with it. .

Jet Pilot, I have been running Castrol Syntec Dexron III, as that is what Bill K recommended at the time I had my VB and TC installed, one thing you need to be aware of is that DC says that using Castrol Syntec is a no no, if you have questions I would call Bill K's shop and get his recommendation. You will be very impressed with Bill's product.

I changed to Red Line 7176 ATF +3 synthetic at around 7k mi. (when I added my Mag-Hytec deep trans. pan).

I stayed with the Red Line synthetic ATF when I had my transmission upgraded for the first time. Excellent product.

I switched to Amsoil Universal synthetic ATF +4 when Bill Kondolay and the DTT crew upgraded my transmission in January. Another excellent product. I will be changing the ATF again today (and adding my new Mag-Hytec double deep trans. pan at the same time), again, using the Amsoil Universal ATF +4. The synthetic really keeps the trans. temps. cooler.

PS: Bill, my SPA trans. temp. sender is accurate... I have a recorded high of 158 deg. F. (so far). In addition (at the time of the original installation), I modified the brass 3/8 NPT to 1/8 NPT adapter fitting to position it deeper into the mainstream flow of the hot cooler line. A very large chamfer in the end of the fitting ensures adequate flow around/by the sender tip.
