BS,
I have been using the synthetic (Amsoil ATF) for 4 years going on 5. I have used it in all our vehicles with an automatic, and have had great results. The truck is the easiest to gage those results by. First thing I noticed is I dropped the operating temperature by almost 40 degrees, that is substantial! I have a temperature sensor in the pan, and it is a valid reading, nothing else was changed. Also while towing it stays very cool, usually it Hoovers around 160-170. And is in the 140 range while empty.
Wear seems to be reduced, the filter are much cleaner with the synthetic. I think everyone has to do their own thing, with there own truck. So I do not care if you use synthetic or not, I don't sell it or any thing else, I just answer questions the best I can. The stuff has worked well for me, I use Amsoil in everything with a engine that includes, 2-trucks,2-cars,3-quads,1-mower,1-gas welder,1-weed eater. I also use there product in 3 air compressors, and several hydraulic pieces.
