Hello all

I am seeking advice about the T/C Lockup Switch. I am very pleased with the reliabilty of the present transmission and Billet Tourque converter?? installed from the previous owner. however another ctd owner here in juneau has this switch set up in his truck and swears by how well his truck preforms I realize that leaving the TC locked up when stopping is bad, but are there any real drawbacks or what are the benifits from installing this switch

all advice is welcomed.

thank you in advance

Lockup switch.

The problem I see with a manual switch, is that it is someting more to forget while driving. Believe me, if you get below 25MPH with the TC locked, you will know it! Feels like the drive line is about to shake itself loose, and the engine lugs like crazy.

I recommend the ATS lockup controller, because I have one. You set the lockup speed, and forget it. Lockup remains in third gear, and it will operate an exhaust brake. Want to change lockup speed? Just push the "up" or "down" arrow. I especially like the downhill braking with the TC locked up. Nice unit.

The switch setup is not user friendly, I have had it on my truck for a while, it will make your truck shift very aggresively under acceleration but is nasty on reliability. I use it to lockup in fourth at lower speeds to fog tailgaters etc.....
