Hey guys... got a problem. Bought the Blue Chip a while back and ran it on 30% with no problems (Bombs away):D :D. However, recently when I hit O/D or am towing a heavy load the chip will cause my trans to slip only when it is on. Is their anything I can do to add more line pressure without having to put a new VB and TC in my truck. I heard that PSD's have a $100 part that replaces a piece inside the VB to increase line pressure. Basically what I'm asking is their a simple fix or is it time to drop my transmission.

:p

another slipping TC

sorry dieselmann , you wanna play , your gonna pay . you need to upgrade your VB , whether its a VB from on of the suppliersor trying to go the cheaper route with just a shift kit and hope you get it right the first time (of course with one supplier and or the shift kit you need to spend an extra $300 to get the full effect of increased pressure by adding a BD pressure lock) , thats the only way to correctly increase line pressure .

on another note , now that you've been slipping your TC its probably time to replace that also , you can only heat and glaze it so much before it won't hold any longer .

now i know why i got away with all the extra HP for so long , i don't tow .

As far as I'm concerned; there's only one way to do your automatic right, that's with DTT products. That means replacing both the valve body and torque convertor. As I and others have said (a lot :D) that the DTT upgrades make as much difference in performance as that fueling box you got, and will help keep your transmission from getting fried by that awesome 6 banger under your hood :D. http://www.dieseltrans.com - check 'me out.

Have you check with TST, I have been considering one, I am looking for a reasonible upgrade for a year until the 2003 3500 come out with a heavy duty Auto RE48 to replace my wifes 2001 Auto

Here the response I got from TST

The Transbutty kit we sell is a kit of springs, spool valves, etc such that you can rebuild your existing valve body. With this kit is installed you can go up to over 350 hp at the ground and 850 torque without trans problems from slippage. Our tests with the PE comp show only 255 hp and 566 torque at the ground with the pump wire disconnected, a level that the stock transmission normally works okay. Once you hook the pump wire up the transmission will need help, but this kit will handle it.

Sitting on the fence,

I would like to hook up the pump wire and try it before i trade the truck off early next year.

I am 99% sure, that I am going to purchase one and install in August. I am located in Saudi Arabia, you could do us both a favor and by running this one my Bill K at DTT, I am sure he will either confirm it reason for duty or tell you if there are any weakness such as it may shift like rock crusher and is to harsh.

Not affilited with TST

Dieselmann,

Before buying any parts I would want to know what my current line pressure is. There is a adjustment on your valvebody you can make. Bill K. at DTT will answer your question directly with just a phone call. Save the $100, make the call.

Opie

P. S. I started my mods by going down the same road as you, almost to a "T"!
