T Case fill

I had my transfer case go out on vacation. I was 7 miles from a dealership and had it towed there. Truck, truck camper, car trailer with CJ7 loaded all made the trip to dealer. Camped in dealership parking lot Sunday the 21st.
Anyway, when I changed fluid last time I remember parking it on a hill to slightly overfill case.
Is this still the recommendation to do?

Level full is fine. Are you running lockout hubs?

There is a pump in the transfer case so there really is no reason to overfill. What was the cause of the failure?

No lockouts.

There is a collar the shift fork pushes on to change from HI, 4WD HI and low range.
That collar broke but stayed on shaft. For what reason we don't know. But there were no metal shavings or broken parts in case. Just replacement parts were needed.
125,000 miles on truck.

Another TCase problem...Tcase will now not shift into 4Lo. Took adjuster rod out and moved lever by hand. Still will not go in 4Lo.
Any thoughts on problem?

If dealer did work, it should have a warranty?

Correct. But I broke down on a trip this summer 6 hours from home. So a trip to that dealer is a long hall and I can't take off of work to do this.

contact dealer see if they'll cover the work at a local dealer....
