Hello Friends,

Just got back from a 2 wk/3500 road trip to the pacific northwest. We are considering relocating up their in the near future so we went to check it out. We have decided on the Spokane area. Enough of that on to the good stuff. I can describe the T-Rex suspension in one word.

Hungry!!!!!!!!

this truck just eats up everything and comes back for more... ... . The fatigue factor is way down compared to my 01 and compares w/ my lexus GS400. I prefer the truck because of the ht and visibility. I met up w/ a few TDR members up there and they were impressed. I'll keep the anonymous and they can chime in if they wish. we did some off-roading and had some good fun.

Stopped by and met Dave from Diesel Power Products in Pasco, Wa. He is a great guy and has a fine facility. I have been buying stuff from him for years and wanted to say hi.

The payoff was late Sunday night. after driving almost 700 miles on Sunday it is around 9:00 at night w/ my wife, 9 year old and our 8 month old as well( everything important in my life) and i hit packed Los Angeles traffic. the good news was it was moving well. It is white knuckle time, elbow to elbow at 70 mph and the freeway has lots of expansion joints, trucks cutting you off, and numerous undulations and other junk. the truck tracked strait as an arrow and maintained its line in the lane perfectly. After over 12 hours on the road, we arrived safely and not very tired. It was worth all that i spent and more for that feeling of complete comfort and control.

All in all a great trip, made better by a truck that eats every bump in the road and ask's for more.

FYI i averaged almost 18 mpg at speeds of 70-75 for the entire trip. I am pleased considering the BFG 315's. I think 20 is possible w/ a box and synthetics all around.

Thanks and fire away w/ questions or comments.

Dan,

How do the National leaves on the '01 compare to the mini-paks(?) on the '03 WRT freeway expansion joints and the bucking/hopping that will bounce a briefcase off the seat?

Have you towed your trailer with the T-Rex set-up? How does it compare to the '01 w/National springs?

Brian

Dan,

You shoulda let me know you were comin' to the Tri-Cities. I talked to Vaughn, and he was impressed so much by the T. Rex he plans on buyin' it for his '96. Man I wish I could've rode in that thing. It's alright, I've got the Fox system sittin' in the garage that's gettin' put on hopefully real soon.

- I think you'll love the NW. My great-grandparents had been to all 50 states and 17 countries, and said nothing compares to the Northwest!

Brian,

The new leaf's on the 01 made a huge improvement over stock. I had the pack designed to handel a large trailer so i think they aren't as plush as the T-Rex set-up. The 01 feels firmer w/ less travel front and rear. The T-rex set-up feels like there is noticably more travel in the suspension front and rear. It seems to just float over everything. At first i thought too much float, but after i while i realized that Kent nailed it.

I havn't towed anything over 1500 lbs but i am sure the results will be similar to unloaded

Blake,

Would have loved to accomidate the ride request. and meet ya too;)

Now... ... ..... Get that Fox system on your truck pronto! A huge transformation/personality change is sitting collecting dust??????????????

Absolutley unacceptable:D

Regards
