Noticed that RAM has changed the recall notice from Parts not available to Parts Available.

Has anyone been able to get this done yet?
What all did they actually replace?
Approx how long did the work take?

My local dealer service tried to tell me parts were still not available so I made him look it up. Got a "Hummm,,, we don't have parts yet" and he rattled off a list of stuff he believed would be included including something to do with the DEF system. Yup, nice, knowledgeable folks.

Anyway, had it in to get the T25 flash done and the night before the CEL came on. Asked if he would turn it off and he says, "I'll do it but it will just come back on again." Didn't BOTHER to mention that with the CEL on,, NO AUTO START! ****** me off. Used my Torque App and cleared the code and turned off the CEL. Drove yesterday and today and still didn't come back on. Would have been nice to get a warning about disabling the auto start. I love that on a hot Okla day.

Sorry for the rambling.

Hello Hippy43 and all,

Actually, I'm at the dealer as I write these words and AM getting mine replaced.
Just got home from a trip originating in Oregon am now in Maine at Darling's Auto Mall at 16 Kingsland Crossing, Ellsworth, ME for that job as well as a few other things.

Mileage now: 164,780
Idle hours: 2436
Drive hours: 3474

Coincidentally, I have a very loud, high pitched squeal when applying my engine brake. The tech has just informed me that they discovered this big-*** crystallized DEF plug in the SCR that is being replaced right now. Once the truck is back on the ground, I will road test it to see if it this got rid of that high-pitched sound.

Here's what we just found in mine:

Holey F'K! Looks like a mud dauber nest. <LOL>
If you get a chance, let me (us) know what all they ended up replacing. At first I was told it would just be the SCR catalytic module but this last visit he made it sound like it is going to be a whole lot more to it including DEF injection parts. Appreciate the information..

Hi Hippy43,

below are a few more photos. This is the SCR and DPF combined.

Thanks Truckman! Did they replace the DEF injector too with this or am I thinking of the wrong location?

Hippy,

I don't think so. It's not in the list:

I also road tested the truck with the tech. I still have a very loud whistle/squeal when coasting with the engine brake (EB) on.

I'm just up the road from you. I live in Bangor.

Hey, Schmeg!

No kidding!?! I will be at Darling's Volvo in Bangor tomorrow afternoon to load a car going to Chicago after I return from dropping off a '47 Willy Jeep in Wade, ME

We live in Stockton Springs. Maybe we can eyeball this weekend. I'll be heading to East Millinocket to load 2 more cars before heading west through Laconia for my 4th for Idaho.

Ralph

I am not exactly a hotshotter as they usually pull some sort of flat bed or step deck. I haul cars with a Wally-Mo 4-car trailer.

My Dealer says that is most likely the correct part for the 2015 trucks but they have no approval to use that number on the 15's yet. If a Dealer uses that part without it being approved they may have issues getting paid.

The Part #s are the same for that recall.there are 3 #s used but they are only diferent because of cab config

So, I drop my truck off this morning at 8AM to get T05 and T25 recalls completed. Had some medical tests(we had wife SUV to drive to these appointments) and we stopped back after 12 o'clock to see how progress was going. Truck was parked outside, so was it done or not started. I went in and asked. Head service written said the SCR had to cool before they could work on it! I said I drop it off at 8AM!!!! Say What???

Anyway I asked if it would be done today. He said maybe by 4:30 of 5. I said OK please give me a loaner or rental, as I have a Max Care Warranty. So I have a Jeep Renegade. No Hellcat was available. If it is not done by at 12:40 tomorrow they will have to pay for a second rental day. If it goes to Monday, then it will be 4 days of rental.

Jeep Renegade?? That's the one with the Red "X" tail lights so the wrecker can find you easily when it's broken down on the side of the road with the 4 ways on???
