Are the tach and the locks going out at the same time or seperately?
The tach receives a signal from the PCM which receives a signal (then translates it) from the Engine Speed Sensor.
Usually when the ESS is going/gone, dirty connector, bent pins in connector there are symptoms such as alternator not charging, overdrive not working (auto trans)and somtimes AC not working.
If there are no other symptoms I would look at the ground/wires to the Tach or the tach itself.
Door locks, look at lock motor/ wires/ connector/ground.
