I have an Auto Meter Diesel tach that I'm going to install on my '93 Cummins engine, but the instructions say that you have to calibrate it to be accurate. My Engine or truck did not have a tach on it, and I'm not running any kind of comuter to hook up to. A couple of local shops have no idea of what to do. Any suggestions out there. HELP PLEASE... . I'm sure that it will be off a bunch as it's one of the tachs that attach to the alternator housing.

Most good diesel repair shops have an optical tach that you can hook up and then calibrate your tach to match, they shouldn't charge too much to do it, probably just have to pay hourly shop rate, it shouldn't take too long.

Boatpuller... ..... Thanx... ..... At least I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I may have to go to the big city (Phoenix) to find the right shop. With my Ford/Cummins swap and the 4. 10 gears, I really need to have my tach working accurately. My OD and convertor lockup also shift manually and I don't want to build another transmission because of my boo boo... ... ... .
