Does anyone know what kind of output the tach. pick up sensor puts out? I would like to drive a gasoline v8 tachometer with it (see why, here).

I'm getting my engine this week, but until then I'm preparing for installation, hence the question and lack of ability to test it right now.

If necessary, I can convert the signal using a Dakota Digital tach. signal convertor. Previously, in another application, I successfully used 4 rare earth magnets glued to the crankshaft balancer and an Isspro tach. pick up with the same tach.

Reading a sample TDR article about the KDP, I saw a reference to setting the air gap on the tach sensor and it mentioned 2 notches on the harmonic balancer. I'm thinking that those 2 notches trigger the sensor and provide a pulse output that would mimic a 4 cylinder engine. So a Dakota Digitial convertor may be able to work with that and convert it to 4 pulses for the v8 gas tach I have.
