Tach pickup for dyno testing

Went for a dyno test. Not sure who the dyno manufacturer is, but the tech could not find the

wire to pickup the tach signal. Any suggestions? I will inquire as to the type of equipment.

Didn't you tell him to look for the #1 spark plug wire??



All kiddng aside,they need to put a magenetic strip on the crankshaft pulley,and set the magnetic pickup where it can read the strip.

Mike. I did. He looked for some time -- because he had done one a few months back, a GM

there is a red and orange striped wire in the loom above the valve cover. it will pickup the signal.



it may be red w/white stripe, I cant remember. make sure the tech sets it up for a 6cylinder too.



just remembered, he is using a clamp-on inductive pickup right?
