Can someone help me look up the color code for the tach on a 1997 in the shop manual?

Location would be nice too behind the instrument panel or engine firewall.

thanks

The wire should be GY/LB Gray and Light Blue from the PCM to the Tachometer. Wire should be in cavity C-31 at PCM. This Info. is from the 97 Dodge Service Manual.

Thanks

My haynes shows GR/LB to the first connection, then GR/BK from there to the tach.

Behind the cluster I have both!

ata;

My haynes does not tell me much on this.

Does your shop manual tell you what the test proceedure is for the engine speed sensor using these wires.

Something fishy here.

I get no voltage fluctuation with engine speed. I took a reading right off the sensor wire GREY/Black on the front timing wheel and behind the instument cluster. Tach works though.

thanks

Goober, The crankshaft position sensor sends a magnetic pulse to the PCM which changes it to a frequency (100 Hz ) and sends it to the Tach. The electronic integrated circuit in the Tach reads and analyzes the signal. So there is no apparent voltage in the system.

thanks again.

That's why I'm having such a darn time installing this remote starter.

Tach wire will have to go somewhere else, I guess.
