Hi there!

I Just backed into an IMMOVABLE OBJECT (2500# ancient anchor acting as a driveway ornament) and cracked the black plastic trim that surrounds the RR taillight. Any ideas on glue types or techniques? The crack is only separated about 1/16" - 1/32" and is running through the entire height of the trim's lower portion. I wonder what type of plastic it is? Should I Try Crazy Glue, Epoxy, plastic model cement, ABS/PVC (plumbing pipe glue) ?? THANKS FOR THE HELP :)

:) Must Not Show Off when backing in unfamiliar turf :) Repeat to self over and over.....

Sincerely, Bill

PS: I also put some nice thin grooves in the paint , some deep enough to hit base metal. Any tips on using the Lacquer-type dealer-supplied touch up paint?

thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!

Someone broke mine for me. I bought a pair of tail lights on eBay.

I need the left one, can you use the right? It's factory Dodge and in great if not perfect shape. I don't know if it will fit an '02.

Of all the adhesives I've ever used, the only one I've never had not work is JB-Weld. Probably a bit overkill on plastic, but it's strong once it sets up, and seems to stick to about anything.

I like the JB-Kwik, too--sets up in a few minutes instead of hours. Used that to fix the fog light wiper on my headlight switch when nothing else would stick the little copper wiper to the plastic shaft (don't think I was supposed to take that apart... )

Thanks for the input guys. I'd rather try to repair than replace (thanks anyway BigPapa). I'll add the JB stuff to my list of candidates for consideration.

JB works good, but if the boken parts overlap you might be able to weld it from behind with either a soldering gun or one of the plastic welding kits that bodyshops use. HF has a kit pretty cheap, others get VERY expensive.

If anyone on here happens to want a set of tail light covers, the RAM ones with the stencil of the ram and RAM letters on them. I have a set that came with my truck, I pulled them off since I didn't care for them. They are white but I suppose could be painted any color. You can have them for the cost of shipping. One may be cracked a bit at the bottom from me pulling them off. You can't see it.

Also have a RAM chrome/aluminum 3rd brake light cover if anybody wants it. They are just taking up space on my bench in the garage right now.....

Email me if you want them, -- email address removed --
