Re: 1998 24 valve, 5 speed
I turned on my headlights today and noticed the thermometer/compass in the ceiling didn't dim as it usually does. I checked all the lights and found that the headlights, stop lights and turn signals are OK. The tail lights, parking and license plate lights are completely out.
This happened previousy about 6 months ago, but by turning off/on the headlights switch, the problem disappeared termporarily. But, now cycling the switch does not help.
I have checked all fuses in the door panel by the driver's door and on the left side of the engine compartment. They are all OK.
Is it the headlight switch? Is there something else I could try before taking such a drastic measure. Not sure how to remove/replace the old one, if that's the fix.
Thanks for the help. It would be great to be able to drive at night!
