I'm trying to understand the "clamp" method of securing my tailgate. I understand this method does not "lock" the tailgate; it just slows down the guy from quickly removing the tailgate from the truck.

At first I thought the clamp went on one or the other bottom horiz. post. (which side?) I saw somewhere else that you should use 2 clamps, not one. I saw someone recommend a 2" stainless clamp at the top of the tailgate. I searched for pictures on this site, but can't find any.

If someone can provide clear guidance on installing the tailgate clamp(s) I would sure appreciate it.

When you let the tailgate down to somewhere around

30 to 45 degrees you can lift it free of the right pivot.

so I would say that is where the clamp should logically

go?

Andy M from Chicago had a post about tailgate theft several months ago. There were some great suggestions on it. I meant to look for it not too long ago, but naturally forgot.
