2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission tailgate clearance light led question..

u guys who have changed your light bar on your tailgate over to leds, did u have to change the wiring? i know u buy the snap in ones for the factory bar. any recommendations?

i was going to purchase the factory bar and maybe the harness assuming they plug in. the factory plug for them is under my truck. id like to use it if i could.

My truck didn't come with clearance lights on the tailgate so I added 3 red LED ones but i mounted mine on the bed end plate right above the licence plate. Had to move them up to clear the tailgate lip when open. They wire in just like regular lamps. I used the snap in kind with the induvisual bases (got em at Autozone). One of the mount screw grounds them and the power wire just ties into the running light wire where it crosses behind bed end plate. If the factory light bar uses the snap in kind with the two pins on back (same as the ones I got) then the LED lamps will pop right in and should work with out any additional wiring!
