2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Tailgate letter decal color delima

Im wanting to replace the DODGE decal on my tail gate as it has been all but gone since I bought truck but im not sure what color it would have had from the factory. A quick search on ebay turned up a quartz and a silver color. The truck im replacing it on is my 97 which is Emerald Green. Anybody have any ideas on which one I should get?

If I remember correctly, a friend had a dark green 97 with silver or more like aluminum color

I have these in black and silver. Size 4"x4" or 3. 5"x3. 5". They are made out of the good 3M Scotchcal.

My forest pearl green '02 came with silver lettering... I removed and replaced w/ black about two weeks after I bought the truck new. Let us know what you decide.

My 02 Sport has the Dodge & 4X4 done in Silver, Truck color is PDR Graphite Slate Grey.

I went with the Silver, I found a OEM one on ebay. Hopefully a heat gun will make removing whats left of the old easy and clean. You kind of have me thinking about the black though now

Yep, I like the black for a subdued appearance... I have not seen another one where someone went subdued. Recommend you soften up w/ GooBeGone or WD-40 over a few days so you don't need any or little heat. for older applications, the adhesive and vinyl have dried out.
