Tailgate lock

Are there any tail gate locks out there? I'd like to be able to lock my tailgate. I have a secure top, but not on ther tailgate!!

I have an electronic tailgate lock that is tied into the door lock. Now I can unlock the tailgate with the FOB.



It is the Pace Edwards Power Bolt.

tail gate lock(kinda)

Hi All,

An old trick for"delaying" tail gate theft,is 2 stainless steel clamps,one over the other on the right tail gate pivot pin. It stops the tail gate from being removed until the clamps are removed. Pat

Let me know if I can be of any assistance with the install. They have a website, mentioned above that will help you find the proper wire to tie into. On my 2002 it was the pink/blk behind the driver side kick panel. Enjoy.

I just put that exact lock on my truck yesterday.



The wiring aspect was easy. Just tap into the orange/black and pink/black wires going to the drivers door. There is a connector located behind the kick panel. I unplugged the connector from the body of the truck, unwrapped the tape an inch or two, then tapped into the wires.



Now, mounting the lock and routing the wires through the tailgate was a pain. All I can say is have patience. You need 3 or 4 hands and only have room for one.



It took me about an hour or so all together. I am really pleased with the function and quality.
