2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Tailgate Question

I am need of a new Tailgate for my 01' 3500 :{ ... . Let's just say that Fred's driveway is too steep to back my fifth wheel down into .



At any rate, this might be a stupid question, but other than trim (sport or plastic cover) is there any difference in the tailgates from 94 to 2001?? I didn't think thewre was but the Reason I ask is that a few of the body shops I asked about are telling my the 3500 is a different (and more costly) part number.



The only difference I can see is that maybe the holes are already drilled for the light marker bar??

The light bar and on some year's with the SLT trim piece and then the Dodge decal is the only difference that I know.



These features might be what there are showing as different re more expensive. If youare going to transfer the lights and trim (if applicable) then any tailgate should work.

Dodge changed the diameter of the pivot pins between 1995 and 1997. I don't know if anything else changed--you'll have to check.
