OK, I got a question for some of you body shop people. On the sleeper unit of my Freight Shaker, there is a utility light, hitch light, which ever you want to call it. I was thinking that would be neat on the back of my truck. Don't want to add anything under the bumper. Don't like those lights that mount to the hitch. So... why can't a person cut a hole in the tailgate, and mount the light in there? My question is, just how "hollow" is the tailgate? My truck has the "factory" plastic bedliner. The older trucks, if I remember, had a panel on them to access the latch. Is it this way on the 04. 5 tailgates? I don't want to go taking stuff a part until a little more info has been gathered.

Two lights, using a 1156 back up bulb, mounted below the tailgate latch, in the middle of the tailgate, equal distance from each side. Wire a relay to the lights, switch to the relay, mount the switch in the cubby hole below the radio.

So, toss some more ideas out this way.

Thanks,
