One the main complaints that I have on my Ram is that the tailgate doesn't seal tightly. I have a Raven canopy and dust continuely gets inside. I found a product that may solve the problem. It is a "V Tailgate Weatherstrip" in the J. C. Whitney catalog. I have ordered one, and as soon as I get it installed I will post a report. Hopefully this will keep out the dust.

The part # is 81CK3120N and is under $19. 00.

Big Bob, I installed the JC Whitney tailgate weatherstripping on my truck when I installed the canopy, and it made a big difference, compared to not having any weatherstripping on my old '79 F250. I orginally bought that weatherstripping for the F250, but I never installed it, and it sat forgotten in the garage for years until I discovered it just before getting my Dodge. In some places it has lost its stickiness, but a little 3M weatherstrip adhesive cured that. The inside of the bed is not 100% dust free, but it's certainly a whole lot better than the amount of dust I used to get in my F250 when I'd go camping. It's no fun trying to sleep on a dust covered pillow! I began putting my pillow in a garbage bag.

Please report back to us BIG BOB. I've been considering this sealing system myself.

Hey Andy, dust isn't much of a problem here in western Washington... maybe for a month or two out of the year, at most... it's the rain! Like Piers said, it only rains twice a year here, once for four months and another for five. #ad

I have a Roll'n Lock cover.
Purchased the stuff advertised in last TDR
mag, from www.accesscover.com. They send 10ft for 29. 95(think it was). Works great so far.
I do considerable driving on gravel roads.

I know what you mean, John, but I live on a dirt road. That morning when I left for Timberline Dodge, I idled in first gear for about 1/2 a mile to keep from kicking up dust all over my clean truck! It seemed like it took forever to get to pavement!

LOL. Tell me about it Andy. I spent about 5 minutes driving down my . 5 mile "dirt" road the same morning... at 5mph! And remember, I have a black Ram. #ad

John,
Will this be the last black vehicle you have. I have never had one, but my wife had one and tells everyone that you will only have "1" black vehicle. What do you think? #ad

This is my second black Ram and my 6th black vehicle(9th if you count Harley Davidsons). Back in the 30's, Henry Ford or someone said "We can get you a car in any color so long as it is black. "
