I have this tailgate for a 3rd gen, it's brand new. I did mount it once, just to make sure it fit, it does.

It is molded black plastic, with re-enforced metal framework. If you look at the pictures, I intentionally shot both sides to show the construction.



I believe, if you have better or equal eyesight as me, you may be able to read some of the info on the picture of the box. I purchased this new in 04, but soon discovered I could manage any maneuver except hooking up without lowering my tailgate, with my OEM tailgate.



My Wife and I are preparing to move from this(wa) assbackward entitlement state, and I am cleaning house, just found this, forgot I even had it.



It appears to be a quality unit, and I believe I paid close to $300.



Could you really not tell it was black? Come on Robert :-laf:-laf:-laf.
