As some of you may have read I rerouted my crankcase oil breather down to the front axle using a piece of hose. The other night i was out hooking up to my snowmobile trailer when i noticed some oil smell and fog being blown (windy out) in front of my driving lights. I snaped this picture. I thought it seemed like a lot of oil mist but it is a 4000 mile truck so i guess it must be normal or close there to. Take a look and see what you think. Also if you would like the full size image just email or PM me.

Looks about right.

If you want to avoid the oil deposits extend the tube 3"-4" below the bottom of the differential, oil paint the road not your truck.

The way I do this is with a piece of 3/4" ID hose slipped over the stock one, no clamps or couplings involved. That way, even though I've never had it happen, if the hose catches on anything it will just pull off.

Yeah... . that's right. I'm still running the bottle but I'm getting pretty tired of cleaning off the DS of my motor and front of pan every time I change the oil. I think I might go the same route as illflem.
