Three questions:

1. I have a G56 (AE . 74) Cummins 6. 7. Its great around town but she winds out at around 2350 RPMs at 80.

Will it hurt the Cummins to run at this speed on a regular basis for unloaded highway driving? What is the fastest RPM on the Cummins you can run regularily without putting extra wear and tear on the engine?

2. I'm storing the truck for 6 months with my brother until we PCS back to the States in May and I drive the truck to my next duty station in Monterey, California. I drove the truck about 350 miles gently to break it in over the weekend when I was back in Florida for a TDY. I topped it off with a tank of fresh ULSD before putting the cover on it and putting my favorite toy away for 6 months.

I asked my brother to drive it every two weeks or so, get the engine fully warmed up, and make sure to run the a. /c. Are there any other tips

to ensure the truck is stored properly without going to extremes? I know vehicles don't like to sit too long.

3. The truck was built on 24 May 07. My brother took delivery of it on 5 November. I put 350 miles on it from 29 Nov-3 December. It will get another 100 miles on it if I'm lucky between now and when I pick it up in May and it starts getting driven every day.

Question is: should I change the oil in May since the oil will be a year old by then or is it safe to go ahead and drive it to California then change the oil when I get there?

From what I've seen, I love this 6. 7!

Welcome to TDR...

I would change the oil before leaving for CA. it is cheap insurance. You might want to change the fuel filter too while you are at it.
