Had a young man stop by Produce stand to find out where the fuel filter was. The man that runs the sod comapany on the same property sent him over(sod man owns 99 PSD).
This young man recently purcahse this truck from Gibson used truck center.
He had it at Big 10 tire for something. Had them order/bring in some parts for him. They Didn't Know where/how to put in new paper element in. But charged him $60. 00 bucks for the paper element. I told him I had two that would fit(Cummins sold me wrong ones for Freightliner) for $25. 00 each and that's what Cummins charged me.
I showed him where fuel filter was. Gave him basic instructions out ot do it. He asked me if I had ever done one I said Heck no I let my mechanic do it. So he went there( I had to go somewhere). That 97 paper element cartridge looks a lot easier to get to then my 96's cannister one.
This truck looks like it had some problems taken care of this is the second time I've had a chance to look at it. Apparently the truck had been rear ended. I know rear bumber was changed out. He had to go back and get right hitch receiver from them, they gave him one for a ford.
This is 97 4x4 blue 3500,(I think it is CC, I was looking at mechanical mostly),SLT, 8" bed auto, mite have been member owned. Fuel lines were changed out to braided(rubber) all the way down to frame by trans. The first time I looked at it something else had been upgraded but can't remember what( but was TDR recommended). Has K/N filter don't know if he installed or was already there.
Hope the mechanic didn't gouge him.
