I know this has been a big topic for the last several years on here and I will probably get barked at for bringing it up again, :( but does anyone who has done fuel tank mods. have anything new/regret that they wish they would have did differently?? I am getting ready to redo my suction line in the tank next week and am not going to mess with the stock plastic bucket. I am going to drop a 1/2"i. d. copper line in near the tank module cap and run -8an stainless fuel hose to the fass. Hopefully this will cure my starving for fuel at below 1/2 tank to the fass. Maybe someone has some new/better ideas. Wish I would have joined this (TDR) 15yrs. ago when I bought my first Cummins Dodge!! Wealth of info on here!!! Keep up the good work. . :):)

job done

Well I just finished my tank mod today. That OEM module is pretty much junk! Good ideas behind it, but poor quality. I ended up using a Gates -10 diesel flex line with a full 1/2" flow to the fass. Now it (fass) purrs like a kitten. The quick connectors on the module are a joke too. Glad I only have one to deal with now... ... well till next time and then I will eliminate that one too. Keep 'em smokin!! :):)

love mine

I replaced the entire module including the fuel gauge and am very happy with the results. Check my readers rigs for pics. Some day I'll get around to posting pics of the sender also. You are correct, this is a MUST do mod for the Cummins fuel system.

one word of caution to you, copper is not preferred because it can react with diesel and make a sticky black mess. I know everyoe uses it onfurnaces but it is a no no in the diesel genset world I work in. Take a piece of the copper you used and soak it in Diesel for a while to see if the compostion of the stuff you used will cause a problem, it may not.

Tractorface how can I get more info. on your changes to your fuel system? I am haveing gage or pick-up tube problems. I am new to the Dodge and this website so I don't know how to go about things yet. Did one wrong already instead of helping me some president just laughed at me. I think i'll have to do something with the fuel module because it gets worse with each tank of fuel. I have the factory manuels, Their no help at all.

Yes I saw your modified module pix. You did a great job making the lid and lines. If I would have had more time and specs, I would have done that too. No I didn't use copper,, I read on here about the zinc and copper no no's. Glad I looked on here first..... tons of info!!:). I used a piece of 1/2" black iron pipe and fittings. Thanks for the reply though. :):)

JGorman Welcome

Sorry some one gave you a hard time, people can be... ... ...

Shoot me a PM and I will try and help you out with more info. There is a guy on here selling fittings that make modifying the stock module very easy and will look professional also. I'll be in office on Teusday and will respond then. :)

Thanks for the compliment GKinney
