Tapered Bed

Not sure if the 2nd gen were this way or not, but my long bed 2500 has a highly tapered bed. The front is 65 5/8 in wide at the top rail (measuring inside) and the rear is 62 1/4 in. I was hoping to put a Roll n lock on it, but not sure if they have one that accomodates that amount of bed taper or how it would look. The 1500s were that way, but I don't know if it was as extreme. Can't find one around here to measure. Guess I will have to call Roll n lock tomorrow.

You have got my attention. Would you be willing to post the complete measurements of the bed. I have a camper that I will be using on my yet to be delivered 2003 and I am concerned. Gary

front 19 3/4 in

rear 20 3/8 in

96 in front to back (8 ft bed)

rail to rail (inside measurement)

front 65 5/8 in

rear 62 1/4 in



Any other measurements, Gary? I've never owned a camper so not sure everything you need.

The beds are the same as a 2002.

Bed Measurements

A couple more important measurements that are important to us who haul slide-in campers is the truck cab height to the floor of the bed and the distance between the vertical "posts" at the rear of the bed. The space between the "posts" is very close on my '00.



I measured the bed on my '00 3500 and it about the same as the '03 mearusrements you gave in your post. I would be really upset if my '01 Lance didn't fit the '03s since I am planning on ordering one sometime next year.

Saw a '02 1500 today and boy does that bed taper ! It was a short box with bed rail protectors and a toneau, it almost made me crosseyed looking at it. Anywho, the cover was the rollup type like the
Pace Edwards.
