Tar/Asphalt Removal

I was proceeding slowing through an intersection that had about 3 inches of water flowing across the road. A guy passed me on the right and splashed the truck. No big deal I thought... ... After I got home I noticed not only water spots but what looks like Asphalt flecs ( Little hard black dots) along the right door and front panel. Feels like sand paper to the touch. Not too many, but quite a few. Have no idea what it is. . Washed the truck and it seems that if you scrub it pretty hard they do melt away. . Is there a product that is safe for our paint that will remove these? THanks!

I have used wd40 on a rag or diesel would be the same with good results

Amen to the WD-40. Not sure I'd risk the diesel fuel, though. I've seen what it does to some people's paint just below the fuel fill door where it drips.

Varsol or kerosene.

Update: I used the WD 40 and it worked GREAT! Sprayed a little on a paper towel and went spot by spot... On the area that got pelted I used it rag style. As soon as I was done I gave it a good wash job and dry. . Seems to be great! Thanks!

I'd also wax the area you cleaned with WD-40. I'm sure it removes wax.
