My Torque Converter is dropping in and out between 45mph-50mph with the throttle about half way down on my 1999 Ram 4x4 auto. Other then being really anoying i'm thinking it might burn it up,anyone ever heard of this. Thanks in advance

If you do a search you should find a lot of info on this. I just worked on a friends 99 with the erratic shifting and TC lock and unlock. We think this is the reason the previous owner got rid of it. There can be a number of problems that cause this. Some people reset the APPS (Accelerator Pedal Positioning Sensor) and that normally will fix it for a while. The majority of the problems are caused by fluctuations in the voltages in the wiring at the ECM involving the transmission. I can't be real specific since I don't know everything. Once we cleaned all of the grounds we installed a "noise filter" from DTT. I talked with them for quite a while and they walked me through everything I needed even though I only bought a $40 noise filter from them. The noise filter won't fix 100% of the trucks that have this problem, but it has worked on the 99 I did for the past two months and the truck wouldn't go a week or two at most before it would start again after we reset the APPS. I will answer anything else I can, but there are other members that know a lot more than me. I will try to find some other posts.

My 99 did the same thing year before last. I'd reprogram the APPS and that was good for a few months. Then for about $40 I got a DTT noise filter. Easy install and it worked for me. Been fine for about the last 16 months. Cheapest fix so far. Some folks have had luck removing the APPS wires from the main harness. Apparently there'a alot of electrical noise in the harness with all the wires in such close proximity to each other. $40 + 1/2 hour = done. MHO
