Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) TC Locking & Unlocking in OD, TPS?

My TC is locking and unlocking back and forth with the cruise control on just going 60 down the highway. . Does that sound like an issue related to the TPS?

Dave (from Goerend bros. ) said he'd replace it. . its most likely a TPS issue.



Also, when doing a 4WD launch, it doesn't want to shift to overdrive until 4K RPM, and it will only shift if I let out of it.

my was doin the same thing. replaced the tps and no more locking and unlocking!

Mine did the same too. Replaced the TPS, problem gone.

If you replace it make sure you adjust it

Ridesamule has posted in one of the other threads that he completely removed his TPS and put in a potentiometer. He adjusted the voltage on the signal wire to about 1. 8 volts and has been happy with the results.

Check it out. It would be easy to do.

I haven't had any trouble with my 98 TPS, but the 95 is a different story. I give it a "bath" in WD40 spray and work the linkage each time I change the oil and so far I haven't replaced it at 226K. It seems to cut up usually on moist or foggy days.
