Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) TC question

does anyone make a better torque convertor for these trucks that doesn't cost a grand? I'm not going pulling, but I want the truck to drive like it ought to... that's all.

This is the answer you are going to get, and there is nothing wrong with it, but I understand your frustration and I just thought I might try to explain it just a little.



There are other products out there than ATS, DTT, Goerends, Sun Coast, BUT they will not perform or last as well as these. I went through the same search you are and I understand.



My situation was a failing transmission and barely enough money for one of the secondary options but no way I could swing one of the big boys, which is what I wanted. I finally decide that so many experienced people had to be right and resigned myself to hold out as long as I could and save my pennies. Finally when the transmission finally just laid down, I found a wrecked truck with a 5-speed, bought everything I needed and did the conversion.



Yes, I would rather have one of the big boy autos than the manual, but at half the price, I'm happy.
