I wanted to wire in a switch to keep the TC from locking up when i flip the switch on, and let it go back to normal when the switch is off. I have heard of lot about putting in a little switch to force lockup, but not much on turning off the lockup capability. Any dangers to watch out for? I drive alot on windy little back roads and my poor transmission is constantly in and out of lockup. Any words of wisdom? Thanks!

Can't remember the wire number of hand but it's on TST's web site as a lock switch, you have to run two wires spliced to it then cut the wire so your interrupting the signal to the transmission, I have mine on a floor dimmer switch to unlock it when I want to.

Someone is working on a switch for me that uses a 3 position switch. Center position being stock. One direction being TC locked, and the other side being TC unlocked. Depending on what year your truck is you have to have some electronics to trick the PCM that all is OK when you throw the switch in order to keep from setting fault codes. As soon as I am able to try this out, I will let you know if it works.

I want to do the same thing. Are there any down sides or other problems that putting on a switch would cause??

If used improperly it can roast your lockup clutch, and eventually your whole transmission. But if used properly you should be ok.
