Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) TC/VB upgrades - effect on fuel mileage

Yeah, I believe from all my readings here and on NW Bombers that you 'feel the power getting to the ground better' with a TC/VB upgrade, but have any of you gents tracked the fuel mileage change (or no change as the case may be) with this improvement. I'm considering my next steps 'down the slope' and after my Isspro gauges are installed may do the transmission upgrade, then maybe some 1. 6's... ... ... ... ..... just wondered if the fuel mileage is affected in any way (hopefully positively after the 'honeymoon period' wears off - if it ever does!) :-laf

O nthe highway there should be no change in fuel mileage. Around town your might pick up a little but I would not expect much if any. I didn't see any increase.

I agree with Cooker, but you should see some improvement with the 1. 6 's.

Most of us change our driving habits with a correct/tight torque converter.

After all the upgrades you won't be able to keep your foot out of it and the mileage will suffer accordingly!! The absence of transmission slippage should increase mileage and reduce those engine temps, I saw a reduction of 10 degrees in my radiator temps in town!!
