Over the last week or so I have installed a DTT valve body in my truck. I also decided to try a TCI 128001 cast aluminum transmission pan. I ordered mine from Summit as the price was good and shipping was free #ad
I have never owned a Mag-Hytec or MagView, so I will not attempt to compare other than to say that the price of the TCI pan was slightly more than ½ what the Hytec cost.

The pan is made of cast aluminum and to me seems quite substantial. The flange is easily 3/8 or ½ inch thick. It has cooling fins cast into it, it has a drain plug, and it holds 2 quarts more than a stock pan. TCI includes mounting hardware that is nothing special, just longer 3/8 bolts along with a new filter and gasket as well as a spacer that is not used in our application.

I have run into two things that are obnoxious about this pan, though. The bolts that hold it to the transmission are very close to the pan in some places. This generally wouldn’t be a problem, except that there was not enough room for me to get the socket to fit on the bolts and tighten them down. I found that the wall of the 12pt socket that I was using was too thick. I switched to a 6pt socket and was able to get the bolts tight. My second point is the drain plug has the same trouble. I only have a 12 point socket large enough to turn it, but the fins are so close that I can’t get the socket on it to tighten it up real well. I’ll be fixing the second issue tonight with my dremel tool.

All in all I think this is a good product and don’t see any reason not to use it if it fits your needs and budget. If I were going to do it again I would use this product as to me it is a good value and appears to be a quality product.

Mike
