Have to say that reading John Holmes' article in number 72 where he wrote about the Chrysler Turbine racer brought back memories. I grew up in Indiana and the turbine was all the talk of the Indy 500 crowd.
Today, the only thing I know of that is as smooth and vibration-free is the Honda Valkyrie (not made since 2002). I can put mine on the side stand in neutral, stand a nickel up on its edge on the right side valve cover, hit the starter, run it up to the redline, bring it back to idle and turn it off..... AND the nickel remains standing! Smooth, like a giant sewing machine.
